We provide services in both the public and third sectors, aiming to address local community needs through the services it provides and the support it offers to local people. We offer a range of subsidised services which reflect locally identified need, including pre –school, after school and holiday child care provision; 50+ luncheon club; tai–chi and a young peoples theatre group.

The facilities are also used by a variety of community or private hirers who offer services such as keep fit exercise groups, church groups, dance and drama groups, social functions, fundraising events, as well as lets to local businesses or to service providers such as the Blood Transfusion Service.

The funds raised through the hire of the facilities are used to subsidise the provision, activities and development of the organisation.

We work in partnership with other local community groups/organisations to advise and support their development, or to improve the offer within our community buildings.

The organisation is responsible for two centres at present.  The first is the highly impressive Grosvenor Centre incorporating the Grosvenor Ballroom.  This building, established in 1904, houses a range of rooms for hire, a bar, a full size training and catering kitchen, a recording studio, as well as the ballroom and a buffet room.  Whether you are getting married, celebrating a special occasion, organising a corporate training session, conference or community activity, we have a venue to suit your needs.  The building is fully licensed.

The second building is the Liscard Community Centre, which is a smaller building, established in 1989.  It houses the Stars Childcare services, and is extremely popular with parents and families.  The building has been enhanced by a garden with educational opportunities and facilities.
